“Learning what you love is a great way to define your palette.” - Aunt Beth

This past summer, I spent two weeks living in Nantucket with my ultra chic aunt and uncle. My aunt Beth is the owner of a vintage clothing and wine store and is easily one of the most fabulous people I have ever encountered. During my stay, I was determined to learn all there was to know about her career and how she became the success that she is today. After watching her flawlessly describe every wine she had hand-picked for her store, I asked her how she developed such a deep knowledge of wines. The quote above was her answer to me.

Being a creative individual who’s always searching for inspiration, I immediately jotted this quote down in my phone notes. I constantly find myself writing down the things that inspire me, so when I learned that my Branding of Me class with Gary Kayye would require me to write weekly blogs, I knew immediately what I would write about. The blogs that follow will be a brief introduction to my inner monologue. From fashion to work environments to travels, I plan to talk about every topic that comes to my mind.

Just so we aren’t complete strangers, I will give you a brief introduction to who I am. I am a lover of committing myself to as many things as possible and a natural born entertainer. I am currently in the midst of my last semester as a student at the University of North Carolina and I cry every time I think about leaving this special place.

Carroll Hall, the home of the Hussman School of Journalism and Media, is where I spend the majority of my time studying advertising and public relations. I enjoyed studying these subjects so much that I traveled all the way to China this past summer to learn more about international media markets. I have spent the entirety of my senior year working at All American Entertainment as a marketing intern, but have worked for a variety of companies before landing this job. I have gotten a first hand look into the world of influencer and social media marketing through my job as a Vera Bradley campus ambassador. As you will soon find out from my posts, I am obsessed with all things fashion, celebrity, and entertainment.

This blog is a view into my lived experience and I hope you follow along on this journey. By writing about what I love, I hope to further define my palette.
